Christian
Service Brigade (Boy's Brigade) offers a variety of ministries
for boys of all ages. Brigade works best when dads and/or
committed Christian men are serving the boys, introducing
them to Christ and mentoring them to become men of God. Along
with fun and games, boys participate in activities that involve
exciting growth experiences: physically, mentally, socially
and spiritually. Brigade meets weekly on Wednesday evenings
from
7-8:30pm
for games, crafts, Scripture memorization, and stories during
the months of September through May.
At
MBC, we break up our boys into the following age groups:
Tadpoles
(ages 4-5)
Tree
Climbers (grades 1 & 2)
Builders
(grades 3 & 4)
Stockade
(grades 5 & 6)
As Christian men, Stockade leaders are trying to:
- Guide
boys to the Lord
- Guide
boys to the Word of God
- Guide
boys to Christian maturity
- Guide
boys to the local church
Yearly
activities sponsored by Christian Service Brigade
CampOut
Each
year, a men/boys campout is sponsored in early April. Here
boys are learning about God while enjoying the nature around
them that God has provided for them. Fathers are
encouraged to participate in the campout with their sons if
possible.
Shape
N Race
For
many Stockades, the Shape N Race derby is the big event of
the year. Boys make their own cars and then race them.
Auction
During
the year, boys earn Brigade Bucks for memorizing a weekly
verse, attendance, bringing a Bible, and bringing their Stockade
book. In May, Brigade holds an auction of donated items that
the boys can spend their Brigade Bucks on as rewards for their
service during the year. |
