The
Spanish outreach ministry intends to operate as a ministry
within the ministry philosophy of Mesquite Bible Church .
Mesquite Bible Church has defined the mission and core values
of our church. The mission is “to develop the unbelieving
and the unchurched of this and future generations into dedicated
followers of Christ”. The core values of our church are easily
remembered by the acronym W.I.F.E. These values are taken
from the 2nd chapter of the book of The Acts of the Apostles
and from the example of the early New Testament Church described
in that book. The values that we focus on are Worship,
Instruction, Fellowship, and Extension.
We
believe that the Spanish ministry easily fits into the work
at Mesquite Bible Church due to its emphasis on “Instruction”
of English language to Hispanics. We also teach the
Spanish language to North Americans. From time to time, we
have “fellowship” s to enjoy the friendly relationships
that we have developed. We want to be able to have a “Worship”
ful atmosphere and attitude every time we gather together
at the church. And very importantly, in regard to “Extension”
we reach out to and try to attract hispanics to come
to the house of the Lord to take advantage of the things we
offer here.
We
believe the truth of God's Word that tells us: “For God so
loved the [people of the] world, that He gave His only begotten
son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will
have everlasting life.” Ministers at Mesquite Bible Church
who have a burden for the Hispanic residents of this community
recognize that God has not excluded anyone from his love,
so we can be sure that God so loved the Hispanic residents
of Mesquite , that He sent His son into the world that they
may believe in Him and live.
As
of May 2004 we have the following Hispanic ministry activities:
ESL
class (meets at 7:00 PM on Tuesday Nights
and includes a devotional message from Guillermo Acuña)
SSL
class (meets at 7:00 PM on Tuesday Nights)
Sunday
worship in Spanish (meets at 6:00 PM on Sunday
Nights)
Our
vision is to establish a Spanish department for the specific
purpose of ministering to the Spanish speaking people of our
community, and our ultimate purpose is to be obedient to the
call of our Lord and Savior to make disciples so that we may
bring honor to Him, the One who is worthy.
Sincerely,
Gil
